The staff really made our stay. Check-in, rebooking, and getting our keys updated were all simple, even over the phone. The cleaning staff were polite and helpful, offering fresh linens and asking if we needed anything. They don’t clean every day during an extended stay, which seems to be hotel protocol these days. Owner Justin made us feel valued, and everyone went above and beyond. We were able to leave a day early, but liked it so much that we stayed an extra day and were still welcomed. Our room was spacious, clean, cozy, quiet, and affordable. It could use some updating, but worked perfectly for our family, our kiddo and pup, while my husband worked. I could homeschool and work on the WiFi without issues. The area felt safe, and there were food options in the parking lot, a doggy daycare on-site, and plenty of eateries nearby with great service. There are convenient vending machines that take cards and actually work. The glass sliding doors open onto easily accessible grass, which was my favorite feature. I like to avoid crowds, and it made it easy for my pet to go out at any hour, which felt safer as a woman. There were plenty of exits and the guests were mostly spread out, which helped us keep our distance after catching a cold in all the rain. We travel all over the United States and have stayed in hundreds of hotels over the last four years. My husband has worked in hospitality, and this was one of our favorite hotel experiences. There’s plenty of sightseeing nearby, and we even made it to the coast. We wouldn’t have done that if the hotel had been subpar. A real gem if you’re in the area.

I didn’t feel comfortable staying here and ended up making other arrangements. I was on a business trip and had reserved a non-smoking room, but was told the only room available was a smoking room. It smelled like smoke, as two other reviewers had mentioned, and there were visible bugs. The hotel itself wasn’t clean.

If you’re doing business in Hartford, this is a great place to stay, especially for a longer rental. It’s easy to reach from Rt 91. The rooms were big and comfortable, and the cleanliness and service were well maintained. The beds and bedding were comfortable too.

I booked through hotels.com on July 19th for July 24 - 27, while traveling by car from Indianapolis, In. At 4 pm, one hour after the cancelation window, the hotel called to ask when we’d arrive. Fortunately we were still a little over two hours away. They said the only room available was a smoking room, though I had booked non-smoking. They offered to cancel, but said I had to do it through hotels.com, which meant only a partial refund and the hotel keeping the rest. After spending more than an hour on the phone with hotels.com, I learned the hotel had to approve the refund. While looking for another hotel, I saw rooms at this one available for a much higher rate. It feels like these scammers knew exactly what they were doing, keeping part of my money and renting the room out at a much higher rate. I wish I could leave zero stars.
