For $45 a night, it was about what I expected. The bed was comfortable and the TV was huge, and the shower had warm water with good pressure. But people hung around outside late at night, which made the place feel sketchy, and the pool was empty in summer. Breakfast was miserable, with Cheerios about the best thing there. I probably wouldn’t stay again.

Customer service at check-in was good, but that didn’t make up for the room. There were lots of little bugs, the carpet was dirty, and the room smelled strongly of cigarettes even though it was marked non-smoking. One bed wasn’t properly made, so I wondered if it had been cleaned after the last guest. I woke up with a few small bites on my chest, and my fiancé and mother-in-law were bitten a lot by bed bugs. The shower curtain was moldy, and the pool was empty. The floor in the food area also badly needed sweeping, mopping, and waxing. The shower pressure was good, but breakfast wasn’t impressive. The room cost $45, which was cheap, but you get what you pay for.

We needed an inexpensive place for a couple of days while my boyfriend was moving down here, so the price worked for us. The cleaning staff were great, as was the maintenance man who helped when our TV stopped working. Just be aware that they don’t provide housekeeping every day. I was fooled by the updated room tours on the lobby computer when I first visited. The room we got was nowhere near updated, smelled musty, and the floor felt nasty. It wasn’t dirty exactly, but it didn’t feel clean either.

For $35, it was very cheap, but things in the room were broken. The hot-water knob came off the shower nozzle when we tried to use it, and the sink did the same. We specifically asked if the AC worked, yet spent the night sweating because it didn’t. In June, with no AC, it was hot as hell. Maybe it would be okay if you only need a place to sleep, but only in winter. I won’t stay here again.

For $40 a night with breakfast, the value was great. Check-in was easy, and the room was quiet and clean with a comfortable bed. Nothing fancy, but it worked well for the price. Ask for a room away from the gas station, since that side may be noisier.
