Baymont by Wyndham Rocky Mount I-95

The bathroom was unsanitary, the sheets looked dingy, and one pillowcase had dried blood on it. There was an opening in the wall, the room smelled like cigarettes, and it was so dirty I showered with slippers on. By the time I left, my chest felt tight. The staff seemed completely unbothered, like they already knew about the conditions and didn’t care. There’s no way they could have missed how bad the room was, yet they put me in it anyway. This place doesn’t deserve even the one star I had to give to post this. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The continental breakfast was just right for getting back on the road early, and the customer service was excellent. We had a very quiet night with no disturbances, even with our dog along. The room was spotless, the beds were comfortable, and it’s a perfect overnight stop close to I-95.

The ladies at the front desk were friendly and efficient, and the bed was the best part of our stay on the way to SC. The floors looked fine until my wife pointed out that my feet were black after I’d been on the bed. The room could use some updating and definitely some cleaning. The TV wifi was awful. For future guests, avoid a room with a connecting door, you can hear everything.

We got a full refund after asking for one, but it wasn’t offered until we requested it. When my partner showed the front desk photos of the room, no remedy was suggested at first, such as changing rooms or sending housekeeping. We had driven all day from Revere, Massachusetts to Rocky Mount, North Carolina and arrived around 10-11 PM with our dogs, hoping for basic comfort and a clean, safe place to sleep. Instead, the room smelled strongly of mold and cigarette smoke, and the floors didn’t seem clean. The bathroom felt unsanitary too. The sink stopper was on the counter with hair on it, and there were small black hairs on the toilet seat. We were uneasy letting the dogs on the floor, and took photos because the cleanliness wasn’t what I’d expect from a reputable hotel. After a long day on the road, we needed somewhere comfortable to rest, and this location fell short. I hope management takes the cleanliness concerns seriously so future guests have a better stay.
