Budget Inn

The room turned out to be reasonably clean, and it had the microwave and fridge I expected for the price. But when I first saw the place, I wasn’t sure whether to laugh or just keep driving past my reservation. Is that really how housekeeping is handled? There were lots of interesting people smoking weed in the parking lot all night. I’m not sure I’d feel safe bringing my family here.

I was in the room for no more than five minutes before leaving to book a better hotel, and I left it as I found it. Management was disrespectful and wouldn’t take responsibility or give me a refund. This place is absolutely disgusting. Whatever you do, do not book here.

The parking lot had discarded furniture, and inside the place seemed to be falling apart. Appliances were broken, the sink and tub were cracked, and bugs were crawling out of the drain. I hope they can get things back in shape soon.

The rooms are moldy and smell that way, the internet is terrible, and other guests are loud and unruly at night. The front desk won’t deal with the noise. They charge some customers $450 a week and others $650, which felt like an attempt to rip people off. Staff also took belongings from one of my rooms while I was away. It took five days, and me recording their behavior on camera, before I got my things back. In another situation, my disabled 68-year-old father had a concussion after being badly injured in a car accident at work. He arranged with the manager to pay a little late, once his workers compensation check arrived. I tried to work things out from my separate room, which was fully paid, and we had reached an agreement when they called the police on him. I brought him back to my room, and within a few days he paid his bill in full. Then the manager put both of us on the do not rent list at Budget Inn and Rodeway Inn. I’ve never missed a payment, and I’ve always stayed calm and courteous. I was the one making sure my father paid what he owed. In return, they put me out on the street with two hours’ notice. These people have no sympathy. They deserve to go out of business. Stay anywhere else.
