Hampton Inn Rolla

The staff are fantastic, but the hotel itself may be the worst Hilton property I’ve stayed at. The pool is closed, and the gym probably should be too. Its very limited equipment, compared with other Hilton properties, is broken or outdated. There’s very little to choose from in the shop as well. The room door and bathroom door were both hard to open and close. Avoid this place until it gets a complete remodel.

I’d hoped for a restful night and a hot shower on a long road trip, but the bathroom needs major work. The shelf was coming off the wall, the ceiling needed serious repair, and the showerhead had a heavy buildup of minerals and mold. A gallon of caulk seemed to be covering problems around the tub and floor joint, along with cracks. The tub was stained because the floor underneath was uneven from hard water, and it took forever for the water to get hot at 8 a.m. in our second-floor room. We arrived late, left early, and didn’t eat breakfast. We used points because we didn’t want to pay $170 for a basic two-queen room we’d use for less than eight hours. I’ve been a Diamond member for years, and this was a big miss. I forgot to take photos before we left because we were short on time. Don’t pay much to stay here. I won’t be back until they remodel, at least the bathrooms.

We drove more than 1,500 miles over three days, and we’re not young anymore. Each night we stayed at a Hampton Inn, and today we were talking again about how those stops were the saving grace of the trip. The people in Rolla were awesome. Every stay was clean and friendly, with a great breakfast spread. For us, Hampton Inn means peace, relaxation, and money well spent.

The beds were comfy, everything was very, very clean, and the breakfast came out hot and fresh. All the staff were friendly too. It’s right off the highway, and I’d definitely stay again if we were in town.
