Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham Rome

We ended up staying because the icy weather made us worry about the long drive home. From check-in to the facility’s ambience and comfort, it was a wonderful stay. The old mill house is beautiful, with some original fixtures and floors. Our room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and they even had a crib ready for our seven-month-old. Thanks to Roberta and Joy at the front desk for their patience and hospitality!

We stayed at the Hawthorn Suites in Rome for our daughter’s wedding in Lindale, and the location worked perfectly for both the wedding and rehearsal dinner. Kelsey in sales, Roberta at the front desk, and Lisa in the bar/restaurant all went above and beyond to look after us and make the trip special.

It was thoughtful of the staff to follow up and offer us a different room, though at 2am I declined. The neighbors were loud all night through the joining room, and I understand why people say the walls are thin. No complaints about the staff otherwise. We enjoyed the place’s old, cozy feel and atmosphere. Our room was spacious and clean, with everything we needed. The bathroom was clean too, the shower pressure was great, and the water was hot. The location is perfect, with plenty to do in and around the hotel. Parking costs $10 a night, but we were told through the booking app and again at check-in, so it wasn’t a surprise. I loved the place and the kind staff.

Breakfast isn’t included in the price, which they tell you at check-in. It’s cooked to order, though, and both the omelet I had and my husband’s breakfast burrito were fantastic. Staff were attentive and friendly. We stayed overnight for the weekend and could walk to everything downtown. We had a clean, quaint river view king room, and the bed was comfortable. We were in a building separate from the main warehouse, and the walls there were so thin we could hear the neighbors talking at a normal volume. They got up earlier than we do, lol.
