Howard Johnson by Wyndham Roseburg

I booked one night through the Windham website for December 7, 2025, while we were on the road, and paid in full in advance. We got there around 10 p.m. The host opened the office and checked us in; she was nice. One key card worked and the other didn't, and the internet had no connection. The room was a big disappointment: it wasn't clean, the floor was dirty, there were only three medium towels and two pillows, and no shampoo. Construction started at 7 a.m., something the website hadn't mentioned, so we couldn't get a good night's sleep. We checked out around 9:30 and got back on the road. A few days later, I saw an extra $18 charge and another for $21.83 on my card. I don't know what they were for. When I contacted the hotel, the host said it didn't look right and she'd reverse them. They later credited me only $7, then charged that $7 again the next day. That's a rip-off. Windham corporate should look into this. I'd give this motel zero stars if I could.

Extra towels or blankets were only a call away, and the staff took extra care to make sure my room was clean and safe. Their effort made my trip to Oregon more relaxing and enjoyable. Hats off to them.

Avoid this place! My room wasn't cleaned, and there were stains all over the carpet and feces in the toilet. When I asked for a refund, the General Manger refused and claimed I'd used the room and showered. I hadn't used the shower, it had been left dirty by the previous guest. They then tried to blame me. The customer service was horrible, and they never replied to my emails. There were people high on drugs around the property and staying in the rooms, and I didn't feel safe. The five-star reviews aren't true.

The woman who checked us in was very sweet, but another employee canceled one of our two rooms without telling us. Since there was no space left at this inn, we had to scramble to find a room at another hotel. We had our grandchildren with us, and we're really unhappy with how everything turned out.
