Upstairs at The Lodge, the rooms have private decks overlooking the South Umpqua river. It’s minutes off the freeway, but away from the main bustle. The front desk staff were friendly, and the bed was clean and comfortable for a restful night. After a morning workout in the exercise room, there’s a healthy breakfast buffet with extra healthy choices.

The location by the river, the amenities, the amazing service and the hot breakfast made for a perfect stay. The place could use a little updating, but luckily updates are in the works. I can’t wait to come back after they’re done and have the experience again.

We’d stopped here before while heading north because it was convenient. On the way south, we chose to stay again on purpose.
