Baymont By Wyndham South Bend

We’d stay here again if we’re back in the area. It was good value, and the location worked perfectly for restaurants and touring Notre Dame. Our room had been recently updated and was clean and comfortable, though the towels were pretty thin and the bathroom light was unreliable. Breakfast was fair.

There were lots of places to eat nearby, along with coffee shops, and the area felt safe and pleasant. I slept really well, thanks in part to the great pillows, and the room was clean and quiet. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, including eggs, sausage, pancakes, cereal, bagels, and yogurt, and the coffee was surprisingly good. The window shades were a nice touch for Notre Dame fans. The pool was temporarily closed while its heater was being replaced.

The breakfast was good, with pancakes, eggs, bacon or sausage, and the usual basics. Room renovations are underway, and the finished room looks very nice. The main pool hasn't been renovated yet, but once that work is done it should fit with the rooms. Hopefully they'll add lighting too. Give it 3-6 months and it could look like a brand new hotel.

We chose this hotel after seeing several good reviews, and it worked well for our one-night stay. It's close enough to walk to the stadium and campus, with plenty of parking on site. The rooms were clean and roomy, and I especially liked how comfortable the bed was. There was also a microwave in the room, which I didn't use but was glad to see. Check-in was pleasant, and the front desk staff answered our questions clearly.
