Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago O'Hare Rosemont

After a couple of days of missed flights and lost luggage, we had to spend a night here before driving to our final destination. It was just what we needed. We finally got some good sleep, the staff gave us toothbrushes and toothpaste, and breakfast helped us feel human again. Thank you!

We enjoyed our stay and plan to come back in a few months. The room size and amenities work well for our family, and when we travel in the U.S., Embassy is usually the first chain we look for. The parking was in a perfect spot, the indoor pool and gym were nice, and the front desk staff were super friendly. Thanks for the service. There are some maintenance problems, though. The bathroom kept leaking water onto the hallway carpet, and it wouldn't drain properly no matter how careful we were or how many towels we put down. The shower fixtures themselves worked, but the hand shower wouldn't stay in its holder and could fall out or spray water everywhere. The pull-out couch was the worst we've slept on. Elevators were so heavily used that getting one took ages, and the area by the second-floor elevators smelled like sewer at times, especially in the morning and when it was raining. We may choose a different room next time, but it's still our favorite hotel chain despite these issues.

The rooms were spacious and had three sinks. Breakfast was delicious, especially the made-to-order omelets, and the evening reception was nice. The hotel is across from the convention center, where there's a free shuttle to the Fashion Outlet mall.

The hotel has the pieces for a pleasant stay, but during my visit it didn't seem interested in putting them together. I was there for four nights, and the WiFi was so unusable that I gave up on it by day two. The room was decent, but the pull-out couch wasn't comfortable, and light from the fully lit hallway came through the privacy glass in the double doors. The bathroom was acceptable but showed water damage throughout. The elevators kept breaking down all weekend, leaving long waits for the one that still worked. Staff directed guests to use the staff elevator, then security berated them for doing so. The security staff were rude and unhelpful, and seemed uninterested in the service standard the hotel is trying to present. The front desk staff were nice enough but didn't help resolve things, and I didn't interact with housekeeping. This property is near a major convention center and has its own meeting spaces, so it was surprising how unprepared it seemed for a large convention crowd. Parking cost $39 a night, which felt steep for an airport area with a huge garage next door. There's little within walking distance, so you need a car or have to order expensive delivery. I also couldn't get breakfast without paying extra: a room advertised for four came with only two meal tickets, and I wasn't going to pay more for something I thought was included.
