The room was filthy, smelled like weed, and had cigarette burns in the sheets. There was no hot water, as other reviews have mentioned, and that seems to be the case regardless of the room. Around 11 p.m., I saw what looked like a handoff in the parking lot, several people with backpacks going in and out of different rooms, and lots of traffic through the lot, all within about ten minutes. I’ve never seen a hotel used as a drug front before and thought that only happened in movies. Insane. I’ll be calling my bank in the morning.

The renovated rooms are about as nice as you could expect in an older motel, but this place didn’t feel welcoming. The front desk man was just there, not friendly, and there were loud dogs and some shady people staying there. I think they may use it for homeless people with vouchers. It’s a last resort; stay somewhere else if you can. There’s no breakfast at all, only vending machines with very little selection. When booking online, watch for the $50 damage deposit. The website doesn’t mention it. They charge your card and credit it back if there’s no damage. My room had cigarette burn holes in the comforter and sheet.

The lobby was clean and the staff were friendly during check-in, but the halls smelled of wet dog, urine, feces, and other things, and the carpet was badly stained. The room floor was clean, though the bleach smell was overpowering. The tables and walls were dirty, with obvious boogers, handprints, food, and scuffs. The duvet was dirty, the sheets didn’t match and had stains, and the bed was so worn you could see where people had been lying. The curtain rod was so far from the wall that I had to push the curtains against the window ledge for privacy. And what hotel runs out of hot water? Ten minutes into my shower, covered in soap, the water turned freezing in winter. Not a good stay.

We booked nine rooms for a school sports event weeks ahead, but got random rooms on different floors. The front desk girl seemed like she didn’t want to be there and basically handed us keys to figure things out ourselves. The rooms smelled disgusting, including the sheets, and they definitely weren’t smoke free as advertised. We felt dirty and unsafe. We often book rooms for club sports and school events and have never disliked a hotel like this one. I usually book Super 8 and have no issues. We only stayed because we arrived so late and everyone was tired after a long day, with an early departure the next morning.

The desk guy fixed my key card after its magnetic connection stopped working. I was only there for two nights, so I can’t say much about safety in the area, though he said it wasn’t too bad. I felt a little more secure on the second floor and needed a key card to get in and out. I didn’t use the pool because I can’t swim. Late at night, people were yelling in the halls, and there was an old, wet towel hanging in the shower, tucked in with the shower curtains so it was hidden. I’d been worried about the place, but at least there were no gunshots like at the other spot I stayed.
