Ryan at the bar made a real impression. He’s full of character and went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable, and everyone else was warm and welcoming too. The food was delicious, and the shower was a highlight. We stayed in the Ribbon Room, which was comfortable and charming, especially the excellent bed. The inn’s décor has plenty of character without going overboard. Rosendale is a quiet little town with not much happening, which suited our relaxed getaway with friends perfectly. My one small gripe was finding somewhere to charge my electronics. I had to unplug a lamp to use an outlet. Still, it was a lovely stay, and I’d happily recommend Six Bells Countryside Inn to anyone after a cozy retreat with personality.

We girls are already looking forward to coming back in warmer weather and eating on the deck. The meal was delicious, and the service made the visit. My friend had booked us a table for Galentine’s Day this past Sunday, and after a short wait Devina was a delight. She gave us the sweetest little matchbooks and told us the story behind the lounge ceiling mural. The tavern felt like stepping into another world when we were finally seated. The back room where we ate was nicely decorated, and Kiley, our server, was attentive and made us feel right at home. Great food and top tier customer service.

The staff were so warm and welcoming, and we felt well looked after the whole time. The food was delicious, with really good gluten-free options too. Our room felt both elegant and cozy, and the design was beautiful. We were especially impressed by the bedding. The mattress was one of the most comfortable we’ve slept on in a hotel. We left feeling relaxed and would definitely love to come back.

Breakfast was just what I’d hoped for: jammy eggs, warm bread, very hot coffee, and juicy jam. Dinner the night before was perfect too. I keep wondering how they cooked the chicken, maybe they brined it first? It was so moist and succulent. Afterward, the gracious bartender told us about the town’s history as we sat in the moonlight, keeping him up far too late. I wrapped up in the bathrobe and sank into the canopy bed, already figuring out how I might skip work and stay another night. This place feels like magic. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

We biked to Kingston and back, spent the day wandering and laughing, then tucked into hearty, cozy meals that felt comforting and nourishing. The trout at dinner and the smoked trout at breakfast were unmatched. Rachel, Jamie, Libby, Molly, Rebecca, Donna, and Davina made the stay especially memorable with their warmth and kindness. I spent Mother’s Day weekend at The Six Bells with my mom, and the place had a countryside fairytale feel: flickering lamplight, creaking floorboards, and weathered charm, as if it had gathered stories for generations. It’s only been open since June 2025, yet it already feels like an iconic setting from a timeless storybook. I’m completely charmed and can’t wait to return.
