Courtyard Toledo Rossford/Perrysburg

I’ve usually had good experiences at Marriott hotels, but I wouldn’t stay at this one again. The front desk staff were fine, not rude, though they weren’t as warm as people at most hotels I’ve used. The online photos made the dated furniture and worn fixtures look much better. A few things seemed like an attempt to freshen the place up that didn’t quite work. There was road noise all night. The windows barely muffled it, and trucks or motorcycles kept waking us, so we slept with the TV on to cover it. The beds also started vibrating several times a night. It wasn’t like an earthquake, more like a strong muscle spasm. I thought it was me the first night, but the next night my son felt it too. It started and stopped at random and reminded me of the old Magic Fingers beds at the Motel 6 in the 70s. It was incredibly annoying. The carpet by the fridge was damp and almost sticky for all five days. The sink sat so far back that washing your hands under it was difficult. The toilet seat had the front opening you see in airports or restaurants, didn’t cover the bowl fully, and kept sliding sideways. The room also looked worn and rusty in several places. We were told by email that the room would be cleaned every two days, but apparently it was every three. Supplies were low when we arrived, including a toilet paper roll that was nearly empty, and we ran out of tissues, toilet paper, and towels before the cleaning. When staff did come, they left the overflowing garbage behind. Food options were limited. Water was available for guests for the first two days, then we had to get it from the gym. There’s no dining in the parking lot; restaurants are about 5-8 minutes away. The fridge barely fits a few drinks, and the furniture style is dated and unappealing. With three or four other hotels on the same property, I’d try one of those. They may have the same freeway noise, but hopefully the features and amenities make up for it.
