We had a wonderful birthday night here. The food was incredible, and both the atmosphere and service were top notch. Steven was our waiter, and he was superb. His knowledge of and enthusiasm for Deer Mountain Inn really came through. The homemade focaccia is a must, and we shared the wagyu special and still had room for the sundae. 10/10, highly recommend.

This is a review of the restaurant only, since we didn't stay at the hotel. I spent a lot of time looking for a Valentine’s Day spot, and Deer Mountain Inn was one of the best meals I've ever had. The restaurant is romantic and calm, with a cozy ski-lodge feel that made the drive worthwhile. For this quality, the price is great, especially compared with a similar meal in NYC. Our server was knowledgeable, kind, and made the evening even better. I wish I remembered his name. We started with the sourdough focaccia and stracciatella. The combination was unlike anything I've tried, and the portion could easily serve three or four. The two of us finished it anyway, and I wished I could try all the spreads. The wagyu steak was tender, full of flavor, and cooked perfectly. I only wanted more fingerling potatoes, since there were just two. The cheeseburger was one of the best I've had, and the fries were fresh, crispy, and delicious. The squash soup surprised me in a good way; it tasted great, though I wished the portion was bigger and it had been served hotter. Get the off-menu ice cream sundae, too. The shaved halva on top had a cotton-candy-like texture. It was very sweet, but worked perfectly. The chicory salad wasn't for me. It was quite bitter, which might be a pattern with restaurant salads lately. I also realized I'm not a cheddar-in-salad person, though I appreciated that they used fresh mandarins instead of canned ones. It was a good-sized portion, even if the flavors didn't work for me. All in all, it was an incredible meal from start to finish, and worth the drive. I'll definitely be back.

The staff made the evening feel special from the start. They were welcoming and attentive, and our waiter guided us through the food and wine with real knowledge and enthusiasm. Jackson deserves a mention too: he's a great bartender who made fantastic drinks and brought a fun, personal touch. Since it was my birthday, the team surprised us with complimentary drinks and a cake with a candle, which was so thoughtful. The cozy setting is lovely, with a beautiful interior and mountain scenery outside. Sitting by the log fire after dinner made it especially relaxing. Every dish was wonderful, made with locally sourced ingredients that tasted fresh and high quality. There was also a great selection of local and international wines to go with the menu. Deer Mountain Inn Lodge gave us a memorable evening, and I'd happily return and recommend it.

We were lucky to get a lunch reservation, since by dinner there was a 300-person waitlist. The atmosphere was luxurious and breathtaking, and the food was unforgettable. Everything used local ingredients, which made the meal feel even more special. Highly recommend.

For our anniversary, we had a magical dinner at Deer Mountain Inn. The inn is picturesque inside and out, and it's worth arriving before your reservation to have a drink at the dimly lit bar. The bartender was friendly and made awesome cocktails. Our waiter was from Brazil, though we can't remember his name, and he made the meal a 10/10. He explained the menu thoroughly and checked that we were happy with everything. If you're in the Catskills, don't miss this place. Can't wait to return!
