Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Roswell

We were only there overnight, and the rate was decent, so the stay was fine. The grounds and pool looked nice, and our room was big. The towels were really rough, and nobody was around the pool to hand out towels. After we shut off the water, the bathroom sink made a gargling noise. There was also dried food on the walls.

The construction was a major problem and wasn't mentioned when I booked. The gym, pool, and half the building were unusable, and debris was often left outside the dumpsters. Room service came by once a day, so leaving a do not disturb sign meant missing it for the day. The remodeled rooms were clean, breakfast was adequate, and parking was plentiful. For a two-star place I'd give it a three or even a four, but as a three-star hotel it was pretty poor.

The location was nice, and the two-queen room was spacious and fairly clean. Breakfast had a nice setup, and the staff were friendly. Still, the upkeep felt neglected. Small ants were crawling all over the room, the ice machines didn't work, and the hallway door lock was finicky, though it would eventually lock. The sliding glass door by the pool was damaged and almost impossible to secure. I'd choose somewhere else next time.

The room was very clean, and the rest of the staff were extremely friendly. We stayed six nights on a business trip, though check-in at 3 am was rough: the clerk was rude and wouldn't let us in until he found the right form for our prepaid company credit card. That might've been his job, but it wasn't our problem. Our balcony door came off its track and left us stuck outside. Management said maintenance would come, but nobody ever did, and coworkers told us they'd had the same door issue. Breakfast was great, though they cleared it at 9 am despite posting a 9:30 end time. I'd recommend it for business, but if I'd been paying myself, these problems would've made me livid.
