Best Western Plus Wausau/Rothschild Hotel

The check-in clerk was helpful and informative, but a few problems really put us off. We found a used towel and the previous guest’s bra in the bathroom, plus blonde hairs on the bedspread that definitely weren’t ours. Breakfast was ready on time and well stocked, but the woman tending the area loudly shared crude political opinions. My partner became so upset that we had to leave the sitting area abruptly.

The room was clean and we were comfortable, though it could use some updating. I was glad to find a place with a little kitchenette where I could stay with my beagle. The dog-walking area had plenty of room, lighting at night, waste bags, and a trash can. My kids also had lots of breakfast options, which matters to me. We had a good stay and would plan to come back if we’re in the area.

They even sell frozen pizza for $12 and will bake it for you, and it’s above average. The owners, staff, and management, who are pretty much all the same, work hard to make guests feel like real people. If your destination is within 30 miles, you must stay here. I can’t say enough about them.

The rooms are clean and nicely done, and they accept pets with a very nice walking area for them. Breakfast is awesome, with unlimited coffee and tea. Every time, we’ve found a pleasant atmosphere and friendly people right from the moment we walk in. Thanks for making each stay such a pleasant experience!
