Quality Inn Ledgewood - Dover

Johana at the front desk has always been welcoming, professional, and ready to help whenever I’ve visited. I’ve never had a bad interaction with her. I’ve stayed here a handful of times, and the rooms are pretty clean, the location is convenient, and the service is consistently kind.

I was upset by how front desk manager Joanna C spoke to customers. She said she decides whether people from OTA who are going through hard times can have the FREE breakfast, even though the hotel accepts money from OTA. When I asked how much breakfast costs, she didn’t have a price. Her words made it sound like people in need couldn’t eat because she didn’t think they should. She also said housekeeping told her what guests throw away in their trash, and said she doesn’t waste food because she only fixes what she’s going to eat. I told her it wasn’t right to judge people going through hard times. Quality Inn could have simply posted a sign saying breakfast was done on only.

The cigarette smell kept coming into my room from the second floor, even though this is supposed to be a non-smoking hotel. I put towels by the door to try to block it out. The morning front desk employee was pleasant and listened to me complain about the smoking violations, and the employee keeping the continental breakfast clean and stocked was pleasant too. The bed was comfortable and breakfast was nice during my two-night stay. But the night staff person brushed me off when I complained about the smoking, and didn’t seem to care. I won’t be back.

The Asian diner attached to the inn was very good. The place itself was clean, though dated, and comfortable, which is about what I expect from a Quality Inn. The hot water could have been a little warmer, but it was fine. I’m not sure why so many reviews are bad.
