Hyatt House Royal Oak/Birmingham

We stayed one night at the Hyatt Place Royal Oak, and I'd come back with my boyfriend or friends. It was easy to explore on foot, with lots of places nearby, and I felt safe even though I'm not from the area. We also enjoyed walking through Woodward Corner Market. The hotel seems newly built, and everything felt modern, clean, and well cared for. Our room was spotless and comfortable. Staff were welcoming from the start, and check-in and checkout were quick and easy. We had a great experience.

Kella was the highlight of my visit, and she's the reason I'd come back. She's such a warm, pleasant representative of Hyatt, and I can see great things ahead for her. This newly opened hotel made a memorable impression, with a very nice room, excellent service, and a perfect location. Restaurants and shops are walkable, and the hotel's size feels just right for comfort.

Everyone made us feel welcome, and our extended stay felt like home. Keyla, Patrick, Antoine, and Ciera, thank you so much. My family and I had an amazing experience at this newly built hotel in a great location. The whole team was awesome, with superb customer service, and everyone went above and beyond to help us.

For anyone needing a longer stay near the hospital, this Hyatt House is a strong option. The rooms have a full kitchen setup that's hard to find even on Airbnb, with stovetop burners, dishwasher, dishes, pots, pans, knives, tupperware, and dish soap. My brother had a long hospital stay, and my family rented a nearby house. Seeing how Kyla cared for guests made me wish we'd stayed somewhere like this. She could make an awful situation feel a little less awful. My partner and I booked a points stay for a date staycation, but we'd entered the wrong Hyatt address. We drove over hoping to switch to our original choice, but both hotels were full that night. Kyla turned a frustrating mistake, entirely ours, into a much better experience by upgrading our room and leaving us a thoughtful snack. While we waited, I saw how she knew other guests by name. She even helped a group looking for tickets to the sold-out Pistons game track some down, then celebrated with them when it worked out. She clearly takes pride in her work and goes above and beyond naturally. Kyla is a gem and deserves a promotion and a raise. If you're staying in Detroit, ask for her. She'll make your trip.
