Big South Fork Lodge

Becky greeted us and told us to call if we needed anything, and we had a great time riding the trails, which were easy to reach from the campsites. We brought two living quarters horse trailers, one horse in each, to camp and ride in the BSF area. The sites were level, well kept, and easy to pull into. Our horses had clean, roomy stalls with free saw dust for bedding, plus a well maintained turn out paddock where they could stretch their legs. Water and electric were easy to access and worked well, and the bath house had two clean, user friendly shower and bathroom facilities. A great experience at Big South Fork Lodge.

We had campsites, not rooms, so I can’t speak to the rooms. The hosts were friendly and mostly left us to ourselves unless we needed something. We’ll be back in two weeks, and probably plenty more times after that. The trails have good footing and nice views, with excellent access from the campground. The BSF River is about a 4 mile ride away, and there are lots of options from there. You can do several loops of different lengths or head toward Bandy Creek. Our site was large, level, and clean, with several electric and water posts. The stalls and paddocks were solid, roomy, and safe, and the paddocks were handy for letting the horses stretch before and after rides. WiFi worked very well. Cell service was weak, but WiFi calling did the trick.

The trails were amazing, with enough to ride all day and never see the same thing twice. The owners were really accommodating when we camped as a group. Loved the campgrounds, we’ll absolutely be back.

This was one of the coolest places I’ve ever stayed. The rooms were spotless, and the proprietor went out of her way to help us find nearby attractions. Google Maps didn’t give me much to go on for things to do around there, so I booked just one night, thinking there wouldn’t be much nearby. Turns out you could easily use this as a base for a couple of nights if you want to see the natural beauty around TN/ KY. Don’t miss it.
