I ended up sleeping in my car for two of the four nights I paid for. Roaches kept coming out even after I sprayed and stayed out of the room for a day, and the sheets were filthy. I bought my own sheets just to try to get some use out of what I paid. Customer service was poor, with nasty attitudes. When I got home, I threw away every bag and piece of clothing I'd had in that room. Anyone calling this hotel good is lying.

I expect a refund. I raised the mattress problem with the receptionist, who may have been the manager or owner, right after checking in, but she denied it and brushed me off. I've stayed in hotels and motels full-time for ten months as a hiker and traveler, after traveling around the US and world for weeks or months each year for twenty years. In hundreds of stays, this is the first time I've left without spending the night over cleanliness or possible bed bugs. I'm used to cheap places and don't ask for much, but I do expect a clean room without possible mattress bugs. When I arrived, the sink was running, the bathroom wall had holes, and the dresser drawers were dirty. I could have overlooked those things at a cheap motel. But the mattress looked like it might have bed bugs: small dark spots and flakes, plus dark rice-sized objects in the seams. Under the cover, the top had the same black dots and grime. Between the headboard and mattress, there was what looked like a spilled packet of white chocolate chips on the floor. Food, maybe? That was too much. I showed the receptionist the mattress, and she rattled off something in another language before insisting the room was clean, even as I pointed out the grime. She offered the room next door, but that mattress had the same flaky black stuff in the seams and on top beneath the sheet. I asked to see a third room, but she kept saying the marks were ashes from people smoking. They weren't cigarette ashes, and they were all around the mattress seams. She wouldn't show me another room and walked away. There are other motels and hotels within half an hour. Stay somewhere else unless sleeping on top of filth sounds okay to you.

We couldn't stay in the room. It was dirty and smelled like smoke, and the smoke alarm kept beeping because its battery was low. The woman in the office just kept saying, “no problem.” I'll have to fight to get my money back. Worst I've ever seen.

For $45 with taxes included, it's not bad. It wasn't too busy, and there was plenty of space to maneuver a 40-foot trailer.
