Hilton Garden Inn Allentown West

The front desk staff were very nice and accommodating, but the stay was disappointing because none of the amenities I planned to use were available. I booked for a peaceful night with plans for the pool, hot tub, and bar, and hoped to enjoy the convenience of staying on-site. The room was very outdated, though the bed was comfortable. The indoor pool and hot tub were closed with a sign on the door. I wish I'd read earlier reviews, since this seems to be a repeated issue. The bar and restaurant were also closed on Sunday, and I was told they would reopen for breakfast the next day, which was highly inconvenient. I was also charged for parking, even though this location is in an industrial area with plenty of parking and space. I'm a Hilton Honors member, but I won't stay here again.

There's an indoor pool and hot tub, with an adjacent fitness room, plus outdoor seating just in front of the pool area. The entrance is lovely, with a fireplace and large TV to the right and a well-stocked bar on the left. Hilton Garden Inn is well maintained. The breakfast buffet costs around $16. Highly recommend.

The cook did me a solid by making Canadian bacon after I explained that sausage gives me bad heartburn and indigestion. I appreciated the effort. The breakfast is a buffet, but the menu is very limited, more like a continental breakfast, and it isn't free or included in the booking. At $16 per person, it feels very expensive for what's available. The hotel itself is nice, clean, quiet, and comfortable, with friendly staff.

The stay wasn't bad, but the lack of service complicated a few things. Our room block was close together, which was great, and the atmosphere was fun to hang out in, especially around the bar and fire pit. I stayed here for my wedding a few weeks ago. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived to check in. We had two overwhelmed dogs and two car fulls of wedding stuff to unload. They couldn't check us in until 30 mins late, and it took another 30 to get everything set up in our rooms. We ended up late to our wedding rehearsal. We'd also booked the conference room for the wedding parties to get ready. It has a divider to split the space in two, and we'd asked for it to be put up so the guys and girls could get ready separately. When we arrived early that morning, the divider wasn't up and there were no tables or chairs out. Luckily, a friend who used to be a GM for Hilton knew where the furniture was and set it all up for us, but it put us behind while we were getting ready.
