Rodeway Inn Rutland

The room was very clean, and the coffee was the best I’ve had at a hotel. We liked the room itself, but it was 80 degrees because the heat was on. They only turned it off after we asked twice. Then there was no hot water, so we couldn’t shower that day. We weren’t offered housekeeping and had to ask for everything. They made the bed on the last day. I suspect there’s new management.

There are bed bugs here right now. It took me a few days to realize. I paid 100 a night, and they told me I had a 10:30 curfew and couldn’t have visitors. The family doesn’t clean the rooms every day. I put out my sign asking for cleaning five days in a row, and they still didn’t clean. They don’t have free waffles or Wi-Fi in most rooms, and they let drug addicts use the outside area. Not a friendly place for families.

For $62 with tax for one night, I was happy enough with it. Breakfast was free, and the place is now non-smoking. It wasn’t horrible, though the sink counter and all the corners could’ve used more attention.

It was cheap, and that pretty much showed. The room had Wi-Fi, a fridge and microwave, and enough space that it didn’t feel cramped. Breakfast was free, too. Still, the non-smoking room smelled of smoke, the beds were a bit firm, and in winter the room never got above 65. The shower water didn’t get properly hot either.
