The front desk staff always greet me with a smile and make me feel like family. Emily especially has a warm welcome and a great attitude. My wife and I travel here for business, and we keep remarking on how good her customer service is. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Sacramento or nearby. We’ll definitely return.

We chose this place partly because it welcomes dogs without an extra charge. Other hotels had unreasonable fees or deposits, so I’ll absolutely use this hotel again. The room was clean, and both receptionists were courteous and helpful when we checked in. We were looking forward to the tub, which had seemed like a selling point when we booked online, but it was dirty. Since it was late and we planned to leave by 5am, we didn’t ask to change rooms. That was disappointing. We also needed the Tesla charged overnight for our road trip. The valet attendant hadn’t put it on the charger, so I went down and asked. I felt reassured after making the request, but in the morning the car still hadn’t been moved or charged.

Our conference stay at the Kimpton Sawyer unexpectedly stretched out when storm damage to our apartment ceiling led to black mold, and we had to stay in the hotel while repairs were done. It was a stressful, unsettled week, and the hotel was fully booked, so we had to change floors partway through. The staff made that difficult stretch much easier. Emilee and Noel at the front desk helped us secure an extra night when we needed it. Their kindness made us feel welcome instead of like we were just enduring the situation. Maria G. from housekeeping was just as thoughtful when we had to switch rooms. She was patient and helpful, never making us feel rushed or like a burden, even when we were slow to get organized. She cleaned carefully and always took a moment to chat, which helped ground us during a frazzled time. Housekeeping staff do hard work that often goes unnoticed. Maria G. went above and beyond, and Emilee and Noel showed how much genuine hospitality matters. We’re grateful to all three for helping us through an uncertain week.

I come here often and always get treated so well. The staff are kind and helpful, and I’ve really enjoyed chatting with the women at the front desk. They made my partner feel special. The location is great, and the bar, restaurants, and rooftop pool are fantastic. It always feels like a VIP stay, even though I’m definitely not a VIP.

The room was spotless, but that’s where my good impression stops. Staying here cost over $500 a night, yet there were lots of junk fees and little charges for basic room items that could’ve been a gracious touch. In-room breakfast was the only option, and they added an insulting delivery fee. Garage parking was expensive, too, and the hotel sits on a busy, loud, seedy street. I’d look elsewhere in Sacramento.
