The Greens Hotel - Stockton Blvd

We needed hangers and an iron for a wedding, but the room had neither, which made our two-night visit harder. The online photos seem several years out of date, and the worn-down neighborhood didn't feel welcoming or safe. Inside, the floors were dirty and the room felt neglected. There were no hangers, and a small refrigerator sat on a metal stand in what may once have been a closet. The bathroom was the only decent part. The barred check-in window at the front desk also made for a poor first impression. It felt more like a quick stopover than a comfortable place to stay, and we wouldn't return.

It's a quiet, safe place, and the people are sweet and reasonable. I love this hotel and would recommend it, especially to families who need somewhere to stay for a night or longer without spending hundreds per night.

The one thing this place has going for it is being down the street from UC Davis. We didn't get the two beds I'd paid for or the advertised bathtub. The TV didn't work, there was no free cable, and the Wi-Fi barely worked. Housekeeping either forgot to dust or doesn't know how. The ice machine needed fixing, so the bucket they left was pointless. There was old, rotting food in the fridge, maybe salami and cheese. The bed frame was badly put together and made the bed feel like it was bending in half.

I've stayed here several times and would come back. The rooms are simple but clean and feel safe, and the service is friendly. Prices are reasonable.
