The Midtowner Hotel, SureStay Collection by Best Western

The photos looked good, and the location suited my doctor's appointment, but pulling into the parking lot gave me an immediate bad feeling. We went ahead and got the keys anyway. Inside, the walls were filthy, as though people had wiped their hands and feet on them. When I tried to open a window, part of its frame fell into my hand, and there was no screen. I tried a second window, and that had no screen either. This felt like a slummy motel. I wouldn’t stay here if you’re worried about your car being stolen or being robbed. The booking site had rated it 4.8 stars.

The front desk staff were polite and quick, but the stay was generally gross. My room was dirty and smelled of cigarette smoke, and the heater or AC made too much noise to sleep with it running. There were screaming fights in the hallway several times overnight. Since I got in late, I didn’t realize how bad the place was until morning.

Whenever we visit Sacramento, we stay here and won’t choose anywhere else. The rooms are always clean, the beds are incredibly comfortable, and the staff are so welcoming and nice. At check-in today, we also got to hear about their holiday, Diwali. It sounds beautiful. We highly recommend staying here on your next trip!

The location made it easy to get to the fun and activities in MidTown Sac, while the room itself stayed quiet. Our king room was comfortable, with a modern bathroom, good water pressure, and a nicely sized fridge. A solid weekend option if you don’t want to spend too much.
