Marriott Saddle Brook

Manny gave us a warm welcome when we arrived at the hotel. We tried the whole vegetarian menu, and Chef Ray really knows what to do with vegetables. Every bite was delicious, with bold flavors and artful presentation. Nothing felt like it was missing. Waitresses Susana and Sharlyn were pleasant and accommodating on each visit to the kitchen, staying attentive and communicative while working hard through the snowy day to take care of customers.

The way the hotel handled this was completely unprofessional, even though I understand the water problem was an accident. We checked in and were hit by a weed smell. After an event, we returned at 11:30 pm and were told we had to leave because a water main had broken on our floor, the 8th. We got no assistance. We had to climb the stairs, use our flashlights to pack, cross flooded floors, then carry everything down eight flights with our feet soaking wet. Staff didn't help us find another hotel either. Once we checked into a different Marriott, they didn't even offer a free room.

I got lost while trying to get to New York City and called the hotel for directions. Luck answered and patiently guided me through it step by step. He was professional throughout, with amazing customer service. From check-in to the end of my stay, his smile felt genuine in a way I hadn't seen from a front desk team member before. Marriott has a great person on the team.

Everyone we dealt with was kind and helpful, especially with advice about public transport nearby. The room was clean and practical, with enough supplies and space to unpack, get organized, and pack again. It was a great fit for our fast-paced trip, and ending the stay with a delicious breakfast before a day in the city was just right. Thank you!
