Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham Sulphur

The location was a real plus, and the hotel felt organized and peaceful. My room was spotless and comfortable, so it was easy to unwind after a long day. Staff were courteous, attentive, and always willing to help. I had a wonderful stay and would recommend it.

The whole stay smelled like raw sewage in the foyer, lobby, and breakfast area. It was so overpowering that we couldn't even consider eating breakfast. There were holes in the bathroom walls, and we had to plug them with Kleenex so people passing in the hall couldn't look into the room. Spiderwebs covered the ceilings. The room door badly needed repair. It was so heavy and forceful that it was hard to push open, and there was no insulation in the walls, so we heard every little hallway noise. The key cards kept failing, and we had to ask the front desk to reactivate them over and over. I was charged $12 in incidentals for two face towels they said had makeup stains. When I asked about it, I was told they don't use bleach on towels because it turns them yellow. That means customers use towels for their behinds and genitals, and they are only washed without bleach before the next person uses them on their face and body. This place is a dump, and I will never stay again. I'll pass this on to the appropriate company people so they don't suggest it for our oil and gas events. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

At Hawthorn Suites I had a comfortable, enjoyable stay. The room was spacious, and the kitchenette was really convenient. The continental breakfast was great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay here again.

The housekeeping was excellent, and the staff were very professional. I ended up extending my stay, and the front desk handled the visit without any issues. The full cleaning service was perfect, and breakfast was very satisfying.
