La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Safford Copper Valley

The bed wasn't as comfortable as we like, though the room itself was fine. The real problem was the walls. There's no soundproofing, and we could hear the people next door taking pills. Really bad walls.

The noise was bad enough that I needed earplugs. We could hear phone calls on speaker and the TV from next door, plus stomping and furniture being moved in the room above us. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and nicely renovated. I didn't use the pool or Jacuzzi, though I saw guests enjoying them. The workout room has a treadmill and dumbbell weights.

The manager's rude, condescending behavior is the only reason I'd rate this hotel one star. I've never been treated so poorly. The owner should send her to classes on people skills. It's a shame, because this is actually a great hotel, and I won't stay here again. The place was clean and updated, the rooms well furnished, and the beds comfortable. The cleaning staff were outstanding, friendly, and accommodating. Most of the front desk staff were very friendly too.

My sister asked the front desk manager whether there was a discounted or bereavement rate for booking several rooms for relatives coming to town for a child's memorial service. We'd come to Safford after a sudden, tragic death in our family, and chose the La Quinta because it was closest to our mom's home. Even after my sister explained what had happened, the woman at the desk, who presented herself as the manager, responded with a deeply disrespectful attitude. We won't stay here again or recommend this hotel.
