Microtel Inn & Suites By Wyndham St Clairsville

The noise made this stay a bad value. I slept maybe three hours and didn’t drift off until after 4 AM. The beds squeaked every time someone moved, the ice machine was so loud I thought somebody was breaking in, and I woke each time it started. Someone in the next room snored loudly, and the bed above me squeaked too. The staff weren’t the problem. There were stains on the floors and walls, and all over the bench by the window. For the same price, I’d stay somewhere else next time.

We were there during fall break, when there weren’t many places to stay. The hotel was basic, but clean and well cared for, and the staff were courteous. Communication could’ve been better: I’d requested a crib ahead of time, got no response, and the front desk didn’t know about the request.

We used to come here regularly, and it was our favorite hotel, but I’ll never return. I was paying cash, as I’ve done several times before, and one of the newer employees asked for my card details. That seemed strange. She said nothing about charging the card and claimed it was needed to “authorize” the stay. I had my bank account open on my phone because something felt suspicious. I immediately saw $74 taken from my card and sent to her personal bank account. I’m contacting Wyndham and the police. They stole from a customer. Don’t stay here.

Priscilla checked us in and was amazing. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and we were very pleased with our stay. We plan to come back soon!
