I was looking for somewhere cheap to rest near Salem and found the Knights Inn, which charged $60 plus a $100 deposit. I booked a room, stayed only about 2 or 3 hours, then left that same night. When the deposit didn’t show up in my bank account, I called the owner. She said it should appear within a couple of days, but after more than 2 weeks it still hadn’t. When I called to explain, she hung up on me. I drove over, and she came to the window and rudely told me it was my fault for not paying attention, since I knew they would take that much money. Then she closed the window and walked away. I asked why she was being so rude, but she stayed rude and wouldn’t explain herself. I don’t understand why they treat customers this way. She seems to be on a power trip and doesn’t realize customers keep her hotel running. It’s in her best interest to treat people kindly. I don’t recommend this hotel, and I won’t return. The experience was not in my best interest.

Just a place to crash. There was no ice machine or microwave. On the third day, the cleaning staff had a day off, so there were no clean sheets and I had to get my own towels.

We stayed at the Knights Inn yesterday without checking the reviews first, which was my fault. If I’d looked, I wouldn’t have stayed. The room smelled bad when we arrived, but we needed to rest, and the broken main lights didn’t stop us from staying. At checkout, they wouldn’t return our $60 deposit because bath towels and hand towels were missing, even though they hadn’t been in the room to begin with. We didn’t use any because we brought our own. The woman assured us we had what we needed, but she hadn’t helped us from the start. We asked for the gentleman, but he wasn’t there, or maybe he was hiding, we didn’t know. After several calls asking for help and advice, they returned only $50, keeping $10 for two towels that were never in the room. Take before and after photos and videos to protect your money and deposit. Don’t let yourself be robbed.

A block from the Oregon State Capitol Building, the location is handy. The rooms were clean and the value was exceptional. Customer service was excellent.

The rooms are clean and the landscaping is well maintained, though the place is nothing fancy. Dogs are allowed with a deposit.
