Quality Inn Salem - I-81

The room was spacious and well equipped, with easy access and lots of parking. The bed was comfortable, and I slept well. I was pretty happy with the service for the price. Breakfast is included, and while the choices are limited, it’s enough for what the room costs. I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a motel in the area.

For such a low price, this motel really impressed me and felt like it punched above its weight. Our room seemed recently redone, with a fresh coat of paint and nicely finished bathroom tile. It felt bigger than rooms I usually get, and everything inside and out was extremely clean. The mattress and pillows were exceptionally comfortable. Breakfast was tastier than at most hotels we’ve stayed in over the past few years, with biscuits and sausage gravy as well as the usual scrambled eggs, waffles, and bread. It was all really good. We spoke with three different front desk managers by phone and in person, and every one was friendly, helpful, and genuinely nice. I’ve saved this place and look forward to stopping again on our next trip along I-81.

The man at the desk was charming, and I watched him treat the elderly man ahead of me with real patience and empathy. The room was clean, the price was right, and the location was great, with a restaurant next door. Breakfast was good, though bacon or sausage would have made it great.

Nothing major was wrong, but it’s an average roadside hotel and the room wasn’t perfect, as you can see in the photos. Little things bothered me: dirt under the mattress, a somewhat noisy A/C, and cosmetic wear. At night, light shining brightly around the curtain was the thing I found most annoying.
