Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Salina, KS

The elevator is out while they renovate, but that doesn’t seem like a long-term problem. The rooms are a little dated, yet ours was sparkling clean, the beds were super comfortable, and the care in the small details made the stay fantastic. Service was impeccable, with kind and helpful staff. It was quiet and in a terrific spot with restaurants within walking distance, especially handy after a long travel day. We travel a lot and were hesitant at first, but they really knocked it out of the park. We’ll stay here on our next trip through Salina. Thanks, Country Inn and Suites!

We’d planned to stay at the Country Inn & Suites in Salina again for Christmas because we have family there, but after this experience we canceled our reservation and won’t return. My husband and I stayed from November 26-30. What started as a pleasant visit at a clean, friendly hotel in a convenient location turned into a nightmare when I woke on the morning of the 29th with severe bites on my face, hands, and back. I believe they were bed bug bites because of my history of strong allergic reactions, their clear track pattern, the debris on the bed, and the way they looked. The general manager brushed off the concern, offered to move us for our final night, and tried to attribute it to a “chemical reaction,” which didn’t make sense to me given what I showed her. If chemicals caused such an extreme, painful reaction, I’d want to know what they were. She only agreed to refund one night, which was unacceptable. She also said other guests had been placed in the room right after we complained as a way to argue there were no bed bugs. That wasn’t okay. The manager was kind, but didn’t take it seriously, even after seeing my swollen face in person. It was deeply disappointing and unsettling.

The elevator wasn’t working during our stay, and staff were told about the difficulty of carrying bags upstairs due to some Handicapped issues. Thanks so much for carrying the bags to the room. This fine young man deserves a raise, and you should keep him. I’ll remember this on future stays in the area. It happened tonight, April 30 2026.

We had four rooms for our family group, and friends had three more; everyone was accommodated well. We enjoyed gathering at the breakfast room tables in the evenings. The elevator was being repaired, so we got plenty of exercise going up to the third floor again and again. Hopefully it’s fixed soon, or discounts should be offered. The hot tub was warm and enjoyable, and breakfast was typical for this kind of stay.
