Starlite Motel

I got in around 12:30 AM and needed to be up early, so I paid for the night even though the place was in terrible shape. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have stayed. There was black mold in the shower, and the whole hotel seemed neglected. The owner and his son said I shouldn’t wake them if something was wrong with the room, which says a lot about the customer service. The people hanging around and staying on the grounds made me uneasy, and this didn’t feel family friendly at all. My room had no window, so I kept going outside to check that my vehicle was still okay. The next morning I considered asking for some money back over the living conditions, but decided sharing my experience might help others more.

I was glad this place was available when I was traveling on a tight budget. It’s cheap enough for a night on the road, and you get what you pay for. Some people staying there by the month were friendly, though I’d still be careful around them. There’s some unusual stuff going on, so use caution. Nothing wrong with choosing it for what it is.

The room was filthy, like everything had a coating of grime, and the faucet was so gross we didn’t even brush our teeth. There was a strange smell too. Around 3AM, someone who seemed like a crack head was walking around, which felt really sketchy. I’d rather have slept in my car. Avoid this place.

I got out of there as fast as I could. The place had a bad vibe, and both the workers and most of the tenants looked suspicious to me. One employee kept walking up and down the corridor. Customer service was poor, with only one employee seeming to care. The building was run-down inside and out, and very dated. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were bugs. It’s a janky hotel in a bad part of town. Honestly, camping out in the countryside would feel safer than going in there. Don’t go.
