Traveler's Lodge

We needed somewhere to stay when our power went out, so we rented two rooms. Both were run down and neither air conditioner worked. We left without staying, but they refused to give us any refund. I won't be back, and I wouldn't recommend this dump.

For a $40 room, I had a really good stay at Travelers Lodge. It was clean, the bed was huge, soft, warm, and comfortable, and I had a microwave, refrigerator, and cable TV. It may not be the nicest or cleanest motel around, and it's no embassy suite, but I was very pleased and would come back anytime. I commend the owners and give it five stars.

The room smelled like stale smoke, and the bathroom was in terrible shape. The bathtub walls were rotting, the toilet flooded, and there wasn't even a plunger. Management blamed me for the flood and wouldn't give me towels, a mop, or cleaning supplies to deal with it. I paid $220 for the week, but the floors hadn't been properly cleaned and both lamps were broken and falling apart. The condition of the room was pathetic.

My fiancé and I still have nightmares about how filthy this place was last fall. The beds were stained, dead bugs were everywhere, and dryer sheets were stuffed between the bed and wall to cover the smell. There was no shower head, and the place was badly outdated and reeked of smoke. We left less than 15 minutes after arriving and had to argue with management to get our money back. We paid just $20 more to stay down the road at the Best Western, which felt much cleaner and safer. I'm shocked this place still has a 3.2 rating, and it looks like some negative reviews are being removed. This is what people mean by a dirty motel.
