Hampton Inn Salisbury

On both of my visits, the staff stood out most. Everyone I spoke with, and even people I passed in the hallway, greeted me with a warm smile. The front desk team was patient and friendly, and the breakfast attendant offered to help too. It felt just as welcoming each time, even though my stays were a year apart. The hotel and room were clean and nicely decorated, and the continental breakfast had a good variety. This was my second stay, and both were wonderful.

Kassie at the front desk made us feel at home before we’d even checked in. She welcomed us with so much warmth and enthusiasm, and was friendly, helpful, and clearly cared about guests and her job. Our double room was spotless, much larger than we expected, fresh, and really comfortable. The staff seem to pay attention to the small details. It’s the kind of place I’d want to return to. I’d absolutely recommend this hotel for its spacious clean rooms and welcoming service. Five stars, no question.

The rooms, food, and hotel were great, and I love Hampton inn. It’s mostly the only place I stay. But don’t count on the front desk to fix a problem. For a family trip, I reserved conjoined rooms and was told it was sorted out. At check-in, we found the rooms were across the hall from each other. Management didn’t help when I spoke to them. Salisbury needs to take a look at its management and front desk.

I believe the overnight front desk employee was named Rashid, though I may have the name wrong after a stressful, late-night situation. He deserves a shoutout. His calm, patient, professional help is why I plan to keep my Hilton honors membership and choose Hilton over competitors. My partner was on the road and suddenly needed to stop in Salisbury overnight because of a situation at work that was out of her control. I booked a room through the Hilton honors app near midnight, then called the desk to explain she’d arrive sometime in the middle of the night once she could get away. We were both panicked and dealing with software problems, and I may not have sounded calm or friendly. I was worried they’d say no and leave her stranded in Salisbury at 2am. Instead, he worked out a plan despite the unusual circumstances and policy questions, without showing any frustration or making me feel like I was causing trouble. She finally arrived at 2am, and he treated her check-in as politely and normally as if it were 2pm. He was accommodating and had everything set up so she could get some rest, even though it was all last minute. The hotel chain treating my exhausted partner like a valued guest, and helping me while I wasn’t even there and wasn’t at my friendliest on the phone, means more to me than champagne at check-in in a luxury hotel.
