Holiday Inn Express & Suites Salisbury by IHG

Mitch gave us a really warm welcome and made us smile, which meant a lot since we were visiting from out of town to see a sick friend. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean with very comfortable beds. It was a wonderful stay for my family, and I’d recommend this place.

The indoor pool was very cold when we arrived with the kids. Online it said the pool was heated, but the gentleman at the counter told us it was open and not heated. We toughed it out, though the kids wanted to leave after about 15 minutes. Other than that, the hotel was really nice and clean, and the service was very friendly. We had no complaints about the rooms, which even smelled clean, like someone had taken time to get them ready.

We paid $200 for a night because the indoor pool was a big part of the plan for our kids while we were in town for the Polar express. The hotel cost more than nearby options, but we were okay with that for the pool. We called the day before arrival and were assured it was open. After we checked in and had paid, staff told us it was closed for maintenance. When we asked for a refund so we could find another hotel with a pool, they said they couldn't refund us and there was no manager available until Monday, two days later. We could have booked a similar room three miles away for $60. Horrible experience.

Breakfast was supposed to run until 9:30, but by 8:45 almost everything was gone, even the waffle machine. Other families came down after us and found only a few milks, yogurts, bagels, and juice. The room wasn't ready when we arrived after a two-hour drive, so we waited in the parking lot with two small kids and two dogs. Once we finally got in, there was spit from the previous guest on the mirror. I won't stay here again with my family, and I don't recommend it.
