Americas Best Value Inn Sallisaw

The price was reasonable, but I wish the service had been too. We stayed three days and had to ask for clean towels. Housekeeping came by daily but barely freshened the room, and there was no extra soap, shampoo, or shower cap. One bed was broken, the room wasn't very clean, and the staff were surly.

There were socks under the bed, mildew in the bathroom, and a horrible smell in the room. That says plenty about how poorly the rooms are cleaned. The room next door, where our friends stayed, had mold on and inside the air conditioner too. I was woken by two women cleaning rooms, yelling at each other, with one threatening to throw the other off the second-floor balcony. Their husbands were nose to nose in the parking lot and looked ready to fight. If I could give zero stars, I would. This place was disgusting. Save your money and don't stay here.

The front desk clerk was polite and helpful, and we still had a decent stay. The room looked fine at first when we checked it before booking, but after we settled in, we found trash under the bed edge and nightstand. A roach crawled across the nightstand, and the walls looked like spills had been left there. As a former employee of an ABVI hotel, I know more cleaning should be done.

The suite was awesome, and service was good with no wait. The jetted tub looked dated and wasn't what I expected, though that might change with the remodeling underway. I'll give the stay four stars to be fair while they're working on things. It seems the place was recently sold and is now called the Blue Jay Inn.
