AC by Marriott Salt Lake City Downtown

The room was comfortable, and the location made this six-night stay easy, with restaurants and coffee shops nearby. My spouse stays here on monthly office visits, so the convenience is a plus. The coffee machine was the one problem. It was extremely dirty, and even after I tried cleaning it twice, there was still odd stuff in the water tank. I don't know what happened or when it was last cleaned.

The rooms are lovely, and the hotel has a chic, modern look. It's practically across from the Salt Palace Convention Center, which is very convenient. But nearly $19 for a continental breakfast is ridiculous. They really need to bring back the free breakfast.

The room was spacious and very clean, with a nice big shower. I only wanted more shelves for our clothes. There's a coffee maker in the room, plus free coffee in the lobby, and breakfast was wonderful. The downtown location is great too, right across from the convention center and within walking distance of the temple and creek shopping center. I'd give them a sixth star if I could.

The bathrooms have great showers, and I like the layered, comfortable lighting in the rooms. Hydration stations on most floors have nugget ice, which is a clean and convenient way to get water. The hotel bar has a limited fixed menu and seems busy, but good restaurants are only a 2-4 minute walk away. Parking costs extra, though there's covered parking in a garage just across the front Plaza, handy for Utah snow. It's not connected to the hotel, but so close that it hardly matters. I love this Marriott property and its location, and I've stayed here several times. I'll be back.
