Alta Club

The workout was great, and I had an awesome stay. I chose this place for its location and historic building, and the full fitness center was another reason. D’marko Blewett runs it, and he's a retired body builder, for those who don't know. He was accommodating, and I'm glad we met in person. Five stars.

When my wife checked out early because she was worried about her safety and privacy, no one acknowledged what had happened. Her concern was that someone entered her room unannounced in the early morning and then left. Staff didn't take it seriously or do anything to reassure her.

When I'm in Salt Lake City for business, the location is very convenient. Parking is easy to find less than a block away. I always enjoy the Alta Club: the rooms are solid, the staff very friendly, and the restaurant is very good. I especially enjoy breakfast there.

Everything about the building, atmosphere, and engaging staff was beautiful until dinner. I ordered steak expecting a tender, savory piece, but got a raw, undercooked slab of beef. It really shook my confidence in the place. I posted a photo and didn't eat it. My colleagues also received beef that was very undercooked. I need to amend this just minutes after writing it. My friend and everyone else in our group got lava cake for dessert, and not one person could eat it. It tasted like sugar was the only ingredient. Horrible. The club is tucked into a small section of city creek just off the main road.
