The heated rooftop pool was amazing, and the rooftop bar was really nice. This is a brand new, clean hotel with helpful staff. My two complaints are the sliding bathroom doors and the lack of sound insulation. You can hear everything from neighboring rooms and the hallways, even quiet conversations. Skipping soundproofing seems like a bad choice for new buildings, and fixing it later would take a lot of work. It isn't even that expensive to insulate. Minus a star for those issues, but overall it's a really nice hotel.
I stayed here five days for a work conference. The location was perfect, just a three minute walk from the convention center. My room was clean and nice, and I checked out the rooftop bar too. It was nice and cute for photos. I'd recommend the hotel to others.
The pool was fabulous, and I used it most days. It was heated to 90-95 Fahrenheit, a pleasant temperature for swimming and floating. The pool is 3 feet to 3 ft 7in deep, and the upstairs deck has lovely views and furniture. The hotel puts out treats at the front desk around check-in time, and Bonvoy members checking out can drop their key cards in a hyacinth basket. For deliveries, you have to pick them up from a table in the lobby to the left of the front desk. TV and Netflix worked without any problems. I could hear some music drifting in on a few nights, maybe from a restaurant or bar in the building or nearby. It wasn't loud, and it finished around 11 p.m. My room was gorgeous, just like the booking photos, and the whole hotel was clean. When I had a terrible but non-contagious illness while away from home, the staff were incredibly supportive. One front desk person even called before their shift to check on me, asked if I needed urgent care or the hospital I'd mentioned earlier, and helped bring up anti-nausea items I ordered from Uber. That kindness made a real difference on a difficult day. Housekeeping also went above and beyond. The foam and feather pillows were okay but not supportive, so I had to use quite a few. I couldn't get the mobile key to open my room door during my stay, though both the mobile and physical keys worked in the elevator to my floor. I'd used mobile keys at other properties, so I don't know if the problem was the door, my phone, or the technology. I'd absolutely stay again and recommend it.
We had a clean, spacious room, and Le Méridien Salt Lake City is an easy walk from the Delta Center. At nearly $400 a night, though, the stay didn't feel worth the price. The in-room coffee maker barely worked, and service around the hotel felt indifferent. The rooftop bar was particularly disappointing. It was packed, with lots of empty tables marked “reserved,” so don't count on casually heading up for a drink. There were three bartenders, but drinks took ages and cocktails were around $20. The staff seemed noticeably unfriendly. At first I was told I needed a card to open a tab, but when I offered to sign the check, suddenly I didn't. Valet is $40 per night, and even after we called ahead to have the car ready, we still waited while they got the keys and brought it around. Checkout felt just as impersonal, nobody asked about our stay. Nice location and decent rooms, but overpriced and poor hospitality. I wouldn't recommend it.
The meal was the highlight: Chef Klarissa and her cooks, Vuke, Sandro, and Danny, made an incredible dinner, starting with an oyster and coconut foam and finishing with the best filet mignon I've ever had, cooked perfectly. Andrea's knowledge and enthusiasm about the food and drinks were superb, and her positive attitude was contagious. Nate, our bartender, paired wonderful drinks with every course, including a great take on gin and tonic with fresh rosemary sprigs. Jose kept plates cleared at a good pace, and between his and Andrea's service we could enjoy a slow evening without feeling rushed. Paola was a kind, polite hostess, and Mark, the manager, checked in at the right time and represented the team with professionalism and kindness. We arrived to a joyful, professional front desk team and a spotless, beautiful room. What might have been just one night away turned into one of the most special experiences. I couldn't have asked for more. Huge thanks to everyone for making the evening so magical. Highly recommend!
