Marriott University Park

The staff were very polite, professional, and helpful, and the hotel was clean and quiet. The restaurant is decent if you’re tired and want a quick bite without going out. The property is dated and currently being renovated. The rooms are dated too, with small bathrooms and noisy AC units.

I was in town for a family medical procedure, and this stay was filthy and gross for the rate. There was drywall and garbage on the carpet, plus a sucker and trash under the bed. It was badly kept, worse than some Super 8s I’ve seen. The bed was probably the worst mattress I’ve slept on, and I could feel the springs in my back. The restaurant was mediocre and burned the flatbread pizza. Starbucks was subpar too, though it may not be affiliated, and I don’t have a high opinion of Starbucks anyway. I also don’t understand charging for parking on top of the room rate. I don’t usually complain and often chalk things up to my own choices, but I wouldn’t recommend this place or return.

There were no smart TVs for signing into streaming services, and the TV options were terrible. I was also promised free breakfast, but it wasn’t provided, and the hotel staff didn’t help. Marriott Bonvoy sucks. Cancel your Bonvoy points and credit card, and book through Expedia, where you can at least get free breakfast for the price. Book with a better chain than Marriot.

I stayed at the Marrott University Park hotel for five days, then came back a week later for two more. Check-in was easy both times, and the reception staff were friendly and courteous. The rooms were clean and well equipped. Breakfast was extremely good and well prepared. Each morning, Tiffany and Elias welcomed me with a smile and greeting, which was a great way to start the day.
