The staff at the Kimball have always been friendly, courteous, and helpful, whether we're arranging our weeks by phone or staying there in person. We've owned a timeshare there for nearly thirty years and spend several weeks each fall in Salt Lake City doing research at the Family History Library, about a block and a half away. The location suits us perfectly. Our room isn't luxurious, but it's comfortable and usually quiet. We cook and eat in for most meals, so having a kitchenette is really handy. One night after the 2024 election results were announced, we heard an extremely loud cannon-like boom just outside our window. It continued for several minutes. We never found out where it came from; it seemed to be coming from one of the LDS headquarters office buildings across the street or the church history building beside the Kimball. It sounded like a cannon blast played through a powerful loudspeaker. I don't think the Kimball was responsible. The noise made me question whether I wanted to return to Salt Lake City and the Kimball. This year I decided to put it behind me and make our annual trip, although with some trepidation. I still don't think the Kimball or its management had anything to do with the booms after the Republican presidential candidate was declared the winner.

The staff were amazing, especially Darrell, but I wouldn't stay here again. We booked The Kimball for July 14-21. For the first three days, the bathroom ceiling leaked onto you when you sat on the toilet. It was repaired, then started leaking again two days before we left. When maintenance came to fix it, he left the air conditioning off. We came back at 10 PM to an 84-degree room, and it took all night to cool down. The refrigerator also froze most of our food. They gave us one night of the stay as compensation, but that didn't cover the $170 we spent on groceries.

For the price, the room was great, and having two bedrooms and two bathrooms was a plus. The bathroom ceiling had a water leak, though, and the top plugs in every outlet didn't work.

It's great having this housing option close to downtown. The rooms are nice, and each one has its own character.

My first stay was nice. I had the one-bedroom apartment, and the kitchen was furnished with just about everything you might need, apart from food.
