Aloft by Marriott San Antonio UTSA Area

The gym and pool are worth coming back for, and there’s a pool table and bar in the lobby along with a great market selection. Service was top notch, as you’d expect from a Marriott brand, and the room itself was nice. The shower could use maintenance, with marks on the pan and drain plate, and the hallways were over 80 degrees even though it was only April. It’s close to UTSA, so I’d recommend it if that’s why you’re in the area.

The room was cleaned well and breakfast was good, and we felt safe leaving the car in the lot. Most of the staff were kind and attentive, though one woman was pretty unfriendly one evening. We stayed three nights, and the small rooms were the main drawback. There’s no closet, just an open unit with around three hangers, plus a tiny two-drawer dresser, so pack light. I had to ask for the shower floor to be cleaned on arrival, and none of the wake-up calls we requested came through. I eventually used my phone alarm as backup. The lobby and rooms were too cold, the paint could use touching up, and I wished there were a little holder in the shower for my own gels. The stay wasn’t bad, just had some things that could be better.

Shout out to Lolo Santiago. During a recent incident, she stopped what she was doing right away and took charge calmly and confidently. She was engaged, helpful, and on top of every detail, and her quick response made a real difference. Her professionalism, dedication, and commitment to service stood out.

We got our key right away when we arrived with a reservation. The room was gorgeous and soooo clean, just what we expected. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels, and this is the best one so far. We’ll have breakfast tomorrow!
