Best Western Plus Lackland Hotel & Suites

We stayed March 4-7 in room 201 for my daughter's Air Force BMT graduation at Lackland, so this is from a proud, very tired mom. The breakfast was one of the best we've had at a hotel, and the whole place was clean, smelled fresh, and had a beautiful lobby. The hot showers had excellent pressure, a welcome treat after long graduation days. It's close to Lackland, with a Walmart and fast-food places nearby, and the printed graduation schedule was thoughtful. The beds were called queens but felt more like wide twins, though maybe I'm spoiled by my presidential king at home. Our seven-year-old was disappointed that the pool was out of order. The fire alarm beeped constantly during our stay and woke the baby every few minutes for the first two nights, which was rough. The elevator needed its buttons pressed again or it would give up. The window looked straight at a block wall, though it opened all the way, so that was a partial win. An end table wobbled so much the lamp nearly fell twice, and there were too few outlets near the beds. It was clean, comfortable enough, and convenient for Lackland, but those maintenance problems kept the stay from being smooth. Solid three stars. With a little TLC, it could be a four.

Everything was spotless, from the bed and bathroom to the sinks and couch. No stains or bugs, and the breakfast had plenty of choices and left us satisfied. We had a great stay and would absolutely recommend this place for your next trip.

For an overnight stop, this hotel was fine. The bed was comfortable, the room had the basics, and Wi-Fi was mostly okay if you don't need 60fps. It did get spotty sometimes. Our room had a stale smell, torn curtain, broken AC controller flap, leaky tub faucet, dirty grout, and a door you could open without a key. We were there such a short time that we didn't ask to move. The front desk seemed receptive to feedback, and I hope maintenance fixes things before anyone else gets that room. Breakfast was decent, and I'm a sucker for a Texas shaped waffle. Earlier in the morning, the woman running the buffet served generous portions. Other guests were terrible at parking, straddling lines or taking two spots with their ugly little crossovers, though that's not the hotel's fault. Google's directions are kind of wack: you exit the freeway and have to turn right immediately, which can be annoying in traffic.

This is my second stay here, since I'm from Maryland, and I recommend the hotel 100%. The employees are respectful, welcoming, and available whenever needed, and the service is well done. The area feels safe. They have breakfast every morning, plus a bar and restaurant in the hotel. It's amazing.
