Residence Inn By Marriott Salt Lake City Murray

The onsite staff were very kind, but our room still wasn't ready two hours after check-in time, and many of its amenities didn't work right and needed maintenance. We ended up finding another of the many long-stay hotels in the area, which I'd recommend doing. I'm a Marriott lifer, and it's usually my first choice.

Breakfast service was especially attentive, and the location is great, close to stores and shops. The rooms could use a little refresh, but I had a great stay and would come back.

I ended up paying about $400 for one night in a standard room. I couldn't make the first night of my two-night reservation, so I called the front desk to let them know. They were very rude and insisted I change my Travelocity booking to mark night one as a no-show, even though I'd paid for that night. Once I changed it through Travelocity to keep only the second night, I was charged a $150 change fee and the remaining night cost much more than my original rate. The hotel isn't flexible with change or cancellation fees for paying guests. Very poor service.

Bridget at the front desk went out of her way to find information I couldn't locate and help me get to the ski resorts. She was helpful, professional, friendly, and outgoing. People like her make a world of difference at a hotel. Thank you, and please give her a raise. She deserves it for going above and beyond.
