For one night, it wasn’t a bad stay, especially for what you pay. The beds were clean, and I checked the mattress too. The walls are pretty thin, though. I could hear my neighbor coughing, lol. The area wasn’t bad, with other hotels nearby, and you can choose a room inside or one connected outdoors. There’s an Indian restaurant inside. I only tried the samosas and mango lassi, and both were good. Breakfast had a nice range of cereal, waffles, yogurt, bagels, eggs, and sausage, plus OJ, apple juice, and coffee.
It was hard to sleep with everything feeling dirty. I took off the coverlet because that seemed unclean too, and wore socks because I was worried about the dirt. I wiped the floor where we walked with a towel, and it turned black. The place wasn’t being kept up or cleaned, and it was really difficult to stay there. It was late, or I would’ve moved. The price also didn’t match what was advertised.
The front desk guy took advantage of our young daughter when she was vulnerable and charged her $200 for a second night when she wasn’t in her right mind. I’d left clear instructions not to ask her about money, but he didn’t call me. He threatened to kick her and the baby out with nowhere to go, so she panicked and paid. When I told him a church member could come get her, he said she was fine to stay. The room was terrible for the price, with very little furniture and everything old. The TV remote didn’t work, and none of the channels worked even when we got the living room TV on. There was no point to having it. I had to wipe butt prints off the toilet seat. After we complained, he checked us out and locked us out of the room he’d just made us pay for. We finally got back in, but he made us feel like we were the problem. They’re never at the front desk. We called for linens because there weren’t any, and they made us come down to get them.
There seem to be a lot of illegal things going on at night, possibly because there’s a club inside the motel. The new owners are renovating the whole place, which it really needed, and it could become a great motel. They may be trying to save on labor, though: there are very few workers for such a big place, and only one front desk person, who was hardly there because he had to help with other things. It seems he may also have been the one getting breakfast ready, with no help. Impressive, but not sustainable. They’ll need proper staffing and management. Once the renovations are done and the place looks better, they should charge more, which might keep the wrong people away.
The owners are so sweet and take care of whatever you need. The inside is beautiful, and breakfast is very tasty. If you have a concern or complaint, they’ll handle it. The hotel feels respectful and comfortable. My boyfriend and I love it, and I give it a 10 out of 10. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay, Ramada is number one.
