MCM Elegante Hotel and Conference Center Odessa

We treated ourselves to a one-night stay after coming for Elegante's incredible Christmas buffet on Christmas Day 2025. The meal was so delicious I can hardly describe it, and the staff took wonderful care of us. Room service was great, and the rooms were clean. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the kind you wish you could take home. I can’t say enough good things about the hotel!

We stayed at MCM Eleganté Hotel for four days for work, and our first night started on a good note. We arrived late, and the Filipina woman at the front desk was warm and genuinely kind. She even checked in after we got to the room to make sure everything was okay. It’s rare to get that kind of customer service these days. The next day, after a long shift, we tried the restaurant connected to the hotel, The Shrimp Boat. Two employees chatted for quite a while before acknowledging us at check-in. When they did, they looked us over, exchanged glances, and made a remark about my husband’s SERVICE DOG. They said it in Spanish, which I could understand because it’s close to my native language. We felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. Even after we gave the restaurant a chance, staff kept walking by and giving us dirty looks. Our server was kind, but forgot my appetizer. When my steak came, it was overcooked and tasted extremely unpleasant, almost like gasoline. After such an exhausting day, that completely killed our appetite, and we went to bed hungry. We really liked the hotel and most of its staff, which makes the restaurant experience even more disappointing. The food and the way we were treated were unacceptable.

We’ll definitely come back. The remodel is beautiful, and the rooms are roomy and comfortable, with large beds and pillows, a mini fridge, and a microwave. The restaurant food was delicious, and the wait staff were friendly and wonderful. There’s free parking for guests and a complimentary airport shuttle too.

I had a great stay and would happily return. The Elegante has a lot of character, and it seems like it came out of the oil boom years, then went through a rough patch before being thoughtfully brought back to life as a comfortable place to stay. I was lucky to get a room on the 8th floor, at concierge level. The lounge food was excellent, and most of the staff there provided great service. I’d recommend this full-service hotel to anyone looking for comfort and a sense of history. The Shrimp Boat restaurant could use work in several areas. It feels dated, and the service and food presentation could both be better. That wasn’t enough to spoil the stay, but there’s room for improvement.
