Holiday Inn Express & Suites San Antonio North - Windcrest by IHG

The room was okay, though the bathroom wasn't very clean and the floors weren't level. A warning for anyone with a truck and a soft cover: several trucks were vandalized on both nights that weekend.

Just a heads-up: if you choose to pay at the counter instead of prepaying, it seems they may cancel your reservation when walk-ins arrive. I'm guessing they can make more from people booking late. I know I booked through Hotels.com instead of directly with the hotel, but that shouldn't matter. A Hotels.com agent even called and went back and forth with the woman at the counter, explaining that my reservation should have been secured.

The service was good and everyone was friendly. The old thermostat's buttons didn't work very well, but I managed to set it to 60°F, which was great for sleeping. The microwave also needs replacing. Still, it was a good stay and I'd come back 😀

The breakfast staff were the one bright spot: friendly, professional, and great at their jobs. The rest of the stay at this Holiday Inn was frustrating. When I asked to see a room before checking in, staff refused, which felt like a red flag. Once I was checked in, guests in the pool area stayed loud until 2:00 AM. My room was underneath them, so the noise kept me up all night. The room phone didn't work, and there was hair in the bathtub, which clearly hadn't been cleaned properly. The place didn't feel comfortable or welcoming. I hope management takes these problems seriously and improves things.
