We brought our small dog and she was welcome. There's a water bowl at the front desk, plus a potty area and bags off the back patio, and pet friendly is a must for us. The hotel was clean, and the pool area and patio were nice. You can step directly onto the Riverwalk from the back patio. It's a few blocks to the main Riverwalk area, but an easy walk to a quieter, less crowded part. We also liked the clean room, mini fridge, wet bar, coffee, and very comfy beds and bedding. We booked because of a concert at the Tobin center, and the location couldn't be closer. It's a walk out the back door and over a bridge, with good lighting. Lots of people from the concert were staying here and walking to and from the venue, and we felt safe. Check-in was quick and easy, staff were friendly, and parking was across the street. There was a slight Peking discount for IGH hotel members, which made signing up feel worthwhile. We had great service and drinks on the patio at the bar, and the bartender was super friendly. I'd give it five stars and highly recommend it. Don't forget Mi Tierras Mexican Bakery, Market Square, the Alamo, or Tower of Americas. San Antonio has plenty of fun places.

We walked everywhere during our stay, though there was quite a bit of walking. The riverwalk location was great, and our balcony looked out over both the pool and the riverwalk. The staff were excellent, and the bedding was comfortable. The shower had great pressure and temperature, and the shampoo and conditioner were really nice. No complaints. We hope to come back.

The location is on the Riverwalk, but it’s still a 10 to 15 minute walk to the center. That felt inconvenient, especially since things close early and we didn’t feel comfortable walking back. The entrance also seemed poorly maintained and decorated, and there was a cooked-food smell. Most disappointing were the rooms: what we got looked nothing like the pictures, even though the hotel’s own site uses the same photos as Booking. Our premium room had no view, and the windows were blurred and wouldn’t open. Reception blamed Booking, but I found the photos misleading and think these rooms should be priced differently. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

We loved how peaceful it was, with an easy little walk to the River Walk activity. The double queen balcony room faced the pool and river, and it felt like staying at a resort. The beds and pillows were amazing, and I found the shower so relaxing. Having K-cups for the Keurig was a bonus, too. There was flavored creamer downstairs, along with morning coffee and water. The front desk was top notch. We got a text the morning we arrived and check-in messages during our two-night visit. Alicia was so sweet and helped with check-in and parking. The lot was nearly full around 5:30, but we got a space. It was about $30 a night. One elevator was out, so there was a bit of a wait. They were working on it each day, so I’m sure it’s fixed now. The wait did give us a chance to meet people. It was perfect for us.

The room was dark, dusty, and musty, so I brought my own diffuser to try to improve the smell. The shower had mildew, there were body hairs on the door frames, and we found hair ties and earring backs that weren’t ours. A giant roach greeted us in the indoor stairwell. I cut our stay short by a day because I couldn’t take it anymore. The photos and reviews were completely misleading. The location is surrounded by abandoned buildings, which you can see in pictures and on Google Street View. My advice is to spend the money on a five-star hotel in this city, or skip coming.
