Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Villas

Jonathan, our valet, made a huge difference for us with our 6- and 3-year-old. He was kind, patient, professional, and went out of his way to help. Thomas was also careful and courteous while handling our luggage. The room was even decorated for my husband's birthday, a really thoughtful touch. We spent New Year's Eve at Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort in San Antonio. The staff made arrival and departure smooth and stress-free, and the whole visit exceeded our expectations. It's a fantastic resort for families and kids. 10 out of 10 stars, we'd absolutely return.

Asia deserves 10 stars. She was working overnight on a couple of the nights I was there, and she's the warmest, friendliest, most helpful person I've met in years. Whatever I asked for, she handled right away. When I needed coffee quickly because of an issue with the Starbucks in the hotel, I asked her for help and she had a taxi there in four minutes. I was at the resort for a few days for a work conference, and everything else was great too. They're lucky to have her.

Ms. Courtney made the paid crafts and family fun room a favorite for one of my kids. I'd go back just to chat with her. Boston was an amazing wave instructor too. My five-year-old did it two days in a row and loved it. We loved the beautiful room and had a relaxing family staycation. Everything felt approachable and easy with young kids.

The wild life feeding was the one event that felt lackluster. We got the impression they put out the bird seed and then went on with their day. Everything else was great: the staff, movies on the lawn with popcorn and blankets, and the games and art activities our son enjoyed. My husband and son took several Flow Rider lessons and liked the small group sizes, which gave them plenty of turns and feedback. Our son is already asking to return. We stayed over New Year's week. The rooms are modern and comfortable, and there are several dining options if you want to stay on the resort. The lazy river, pools, and slides were heated, so we could use them in December and January. For families, going during a holiday, spring break, or summer means the kids' activities are staffed and available.
